Kitchen design help!

Finally in a position to get our kitchen redone and I’m now overwhelmed with all the choices but don’t feel like the design I’ve had done is as good as it could be.

Anyone got any ideas how I could better use this space? This is the design I’ve had done so far I’m most happy with.

They’ve said there isn’t enough space to have an island, the fridge/freezer will go under the stairs on the right hand wall (similar to the pic but with cupboard doors not open shelves) thinking of adding an additional cupboard in place of the third stool closest to the patio doors.

What would you do here, all ideas welcome!

Although I’m now wondering if I could have an island if it was more like this, but it would mean having the sink & hob on the island?

What are the dimensions of the room? Which company did you go with? We are currently having our kitchen redone, the fitters started ripping the old kitchen out yesterday.

Could you add a sketch floorplan? It's hard to see how the two fit together based on the design images and how the patio window area ties in (i.e. is that a dining area or where a living area starts).
Depending on your budget, moving things like sinks (water/waste connections) and gas supplies (if you want a gas hob rather than induction) adds up fast, so an island may end up being a very expensive option.
Our kitchen is a weird square shape with doors on opposite corners so an island would have made it awkward, and we went for an improved replica of previous layout but with room for a proper fridge. Others would probably have approached it differently and knocked through into dining room... Budget, timing, tolerance for the chaos are all variables here.

@comeundone Very rough sketch of the space!

Yeah good point on water/gas connections adding up if we moved them to an island. The first design image has the sink & hob in a similar place to where they are now.
