Nantwich / Shavington opinions?

Hi all,

We are looking to move to a smaller town / large village location but need to be close to good rail links for DHs future work opportunities so have been looking around this area and to the south / west. We are coming from the edge of a city but fed up with the traffic, noise and the type of area.

Has anyone lived here before or heard much about it? We would prefer a bit more rural so have been looking at the smaller villages around this location too but there's a couple of new build estates here which would make moving easier. Have one DS about to turn 2 and hoping for another very soon.

Any thoughts welcome or suggestions of where else to look, have thought about Market Drayton too but schools don't look as good.

Have you looked the other side of Crewe from Nantwich - Sandbach, Holmes Chapel, Haslington, Winterley?

Our daughter and husband moved from London to Audlem.
They love it, the schools are good, the trains from Crewe are fast and reliable, It’s a beautiful part of the country with lots to do.
It has been a really good move.

Had a look at Sandbach but have an elderly MIL who is Shrewsbury way so part of the idea of moving is to be closer to her. Is it a better area there?

Wrinehill, Betley and Balterley are nearby and lovely, nicer than Shavington but more ££ from last time looked round there. 10 mins into Crewe and have several nice pubs, a shop/po and decent schools. Sandbach and Nantwich also nice. Not keen on Market Drayton, but think that's because it isn't Shrewsbury, which is lovely too.

Also Knightley and Woore are nice villages with pubs, schools nearby
