Moving from London to Kent

Hi all, I realise this question has been asked a few times before but would like recent advice should anything have changed.

We currently live in SE London/Bromley border and looking to move for grammar school for DS in Maidstone. We have a DD still in primary school so good primary schools are also a must. Budget for move between 500-550K and we are hoping to find a 4 bed semi or detached in a lovely, safe and quiet area. I have to go into London by car and DH WFH.

We drove up central Maidstone area and unfortunately it didn't look too nice. I would be very grateful for any recommendations of areas that we can consider that would have good access to Maidstone and London as well as good primary schools and excellent safety.

Thank you very much in advance.

I have lived in Maidstone for 18 years (not central). Parts of Maidstone are nice and also accessible- Bearsted or Allington mostly. Allington is great for access into Maidstone and you can pop right on the M20 at junction 4. There are lots of little villages in Maidstone that are nice, but bus transport may not be great for schools. Just outside Maidstone such as West Malling are also good. Avoid Medway!

Grove Green / Weavering / Bearsted areas are lovely , good schools , close to amenities and the M20 , lots of green areas .
