Radstock/Peasedown St John/High Littleton

Advice please!

My fiancé and I are looking to move. My workplace is in Bishop Sutton so we're trying to find somewhere reasonably close by (within 20-30 minute drive) but having difficulty narrowing it down.

We're trying to avoid town centres, opting for more semi-rural, village like locations. Somewhere with nice local walks for the dog, a village shop or pub, good catchment for schools etc.

We're currently thinking about Radstock, High Littleton, or Peasedown St John areas. Is there anyone from these places that can give us the low down on what it's like to live there?

Why have you posted this twice?!

Don’t really know other areas as driven through them. But Peasedown St John is where relatives live.

It’s close to Bath but an approx 15-20 minute bus or car journey from there.

Has a small high street, schools, church. Sort of quite rural from what I recall.

There’s a big or medium sized private estate of 90s/00s houses and other houses nearer and outside the village.

Can’t recall if there’s a pub in Peasedown, there was one just outside it on the way to the park and ride, wouldn’t necessary call the shops a village but locals may do. I presume there are good dog walks but they don’t have one so can’t comment.

Why have you posted this twice?!

There is only one active thread. The other was removed.

Nope. The other one is still there!

Have worked in Radstock and found it a little bit run down - but this was 5 years ago now so may have improved (or gotten worse)! Peasedown has a nicer vibe and closer to Bath. Not sure about High Littleton. Have friends in Midsomer Norton and Timsbury which are both nice too. Have also heard Wellow is lovely but pricey. Good luck!

There's really not much going on in either Radstock or Midsomer Norton, and it is quite run down.

Agreed with Radstock. I went there once to get my hair done before a wedding but that was it. I mean it wasn’t awful but Peasedown seemed nicer. I can’t recall Midsomer Norton.

The only thing I would say is that though there are buses, you really need to drive there. And I found wifi was awful in streets on the estate and same in relatives house but it might’ve improved since.

The pub I mentioned before, think it’s closed down but seemed a bit dead whenever we popped in.
