Internal Doors

If you were changing the internal doors in your bog standard semi what would you go for?

We had oak in our old house which I loved the look of but this house is quite dark in areas so not sure that would work.

I don’t want anything too trendy that will date but also would like something a bit nicer than the standard 6 panel doors we have currently.

Bog standard semi, nothing trendy?

Yes I just mean no black aluminium or anything that I’m probably going to regret in 5 years.

I like that, and we will definitely put in a few with glass where we can to help spread some light.

What era does your house date from? I grew up in a 1930s semi-detached which still had the original internal doors, so I have a real nostalgia for that style.

The house we live in now is newer, and we just replaced the mdf 6 panel doors with solid wood panel doors thatt we painted off-white, and bought decent handles.

It’s an 80s house.

Was it hard work to paint the doors? We had to oil our last ones which I don’t remember being much fun.

Ha ha, not it was not fun at all but I was pregnant so used the fumes as an excuse to get out of it.
