Can anyone help? Horrible mirror firmly stuck to wall

Hi all

Is there anything I can do about this monstrosity in my bathroom?

I think it's oxidised / rusty / desilvered.

I can't unstick it.

I've tried shoving aluminium foil behind it but there's no space between it and the wall.

Would be very grateful for any ideas for a cover-up.

There was a mirror like this in our bathroom when we moved into our current home. Nothing could budge it. Ended up having to smash it to remove it. You could put mirror tiles over it if you don't want to go to that extreme.

Thanks Cosmosforbreakfast, yes, maybe I could stick mirror tiles to it.

Or even glue another mirror to the front.

I googled invisible mirror fixings but it appears you can mastic them to the wall, or use the no nails stuff 😬. I have used mirror pads before and regretted it, but you can get something into the gap to hack through them.

Agree the only ways are to either stick another mirror over it, or to cover it with heavy duty polythene and masking tape then smash it. Then try to scrape off whatever was used.

Thanks. Yes, I think if I smash it it’ll ruin the tiles underneath, plus I’ll probably hurt myself.

i’m not a natural with DIY…
