Please tell my I'm not alone on this, a few rooms being decorated has turned into a major renovation project and I'm wondering what I've started...

This is why I hate doing DIY- one job always creates about 5 more jobs!

You're not alone in this. Paper needs stripping.....plaster comes off. Door needs sanding back to paint.....handle is broken and door is rotten.

Several years ago, a quick job of sanding and revarnishing a doorstep mushroomed into replacing all windows and external doors for £££.

So you're not alone.

This has been our whole house. 😣 thought it'd be a quick lick of paint. Nope! Needed every surface redoing, skimmed walls and ceilings. Luckily we have a good plasterer.

Crazycatladyy · 23/05/2024 09:34

Discovered structural issues, dodgy electrics, leaks, blown plaster, the list goes on. Walls haven't even seen a paintbrush yet!

I detest undertaking DIY projects because they always result in five or more jobs!

Sometimes I think it would be better just to embrace shabby chic & not start any new jobs (or just shabby)
