Repossessed property

I wonder if I can get information from here

Is the local police informed about a property to be repossessed? I know the local council is probably informed.

Also, how can people find out of the property was repossessed?

My property was repossessed few years ago & I moved without any fuss or drama and I have now moved on but now some nosy people are poking their noses into my life with certain questions.

I have always been VERY private and keep my business to myself etc & I do not wish to tell them exactly what happened so I have just said I moved for kids sake which I would have done anyway if property was not repossessed.

Unless the occupants became violent and/or aggressive during reposession, why would the police have anything to do with it?

Repossession in terms of the bank taking back the house? Or are you talking about some other sort of eviction?

Neither the council nor the police would have any information nor interest about a financial repossession. The only way someone might deduce a house is a repo would be by reading the auction pack and decoding the language used in it. Financial repos have to go to an open market as part of the process- generally this is by (but not exclusively) offering it at a public auction.
