If I won the lottery, I'd buy a place in the barbican in a heart beat. It's lush, but I do think that there are flats that have a better view in the complex. If I'm being picky!

They have restored that beautifully. I love the mezzanine idea (I've often wondered what those flats would be like).

£12k service charge and extra for parking -ouch.

Its nicely renovated / has a nice aesthetic but that is not my dream by a long stretch.

The multiple levels, the location in general (ec1) and the brutalist barbican 😨 arent included in my dream pied a terre

True about the views, but that’s lovely. And maybe if I lived there, I wouldn’t get lost every single time I try to find the art gallery. (The conservatory was closed last time I was in — is it not open to the public any more?)

The Conservatory is only open on certain days and you need to book a (free) ticket in advance. Every time I try, they're all booked up.

I actually find it quite claustrophobic, it's very narrow

As it happens DH and I went to the conservatory last Saturday (open until 11pm).

Try looking at random dates to see what is available -I think I booked about a fortnight in advance when just the 8pm tickets were available.

I've concluded I need to stick to the two ways I know how to get in and out of the estate; I feel sure that it used to be better signposted.
