Areas of Huddersfield to avoid?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a 2/3 bed house in Huddersfield this year, around a £165k budget, and hoping to be about 20 minutes from family in Darton, Barnsley.

Current searches have given nice enough houses in Fenay Bridge, Kirkburton, Lockwood, Dalton etc

Any areas to avoid? Any recommendations in this price bracket and proximity to Darton, Barnsley?

I've read that Dalton and Lockwood should be avoided. Is this true?
