Whats next to your front door if it’s not plant pots

I’ve got a big plant pot either side of my front door at the moment, but my time and green thumb are non existant so it always looks a mess,
and worse the soil in the pots has become home various any colonies who keep trying to make it into my house now too.

id like to get rid of them (or at least move them to somewhere else in the garden) and put something else either side of the door. Artificial plants look very artificial…
is there anything else I could put to pretty the space up?

plastic topiary "trees" because the slugs and snails kept eating the bedding plants! They look ok from a distance and aren't that bad close up either.

Just spend a minute per day watering the things, it’s not hard. Please don’t use plastic plants, they are an abomination

A pile of everyone's bloody shoes that they never pick up and put away and then complain when they fill up with water. I'd be grateful for a plant pot.

Lovely rocks from the beach.

A house near me I like has a stone bulldog! At Xmas has a hat on. I think it looks great.

Nothing sadly. Very tall house, front faces north and gets basically no sun so everything shrivels up and dies. I can't get myself to buy plastic. Stone bulldog might be an idea though...

lol those gorillas
Alas I have only a tiny amount of space either side of my front door

Used to be on the back garden at our old house but now sits next to the door.

Had it about 25 years and think it was £20 at the time.

Ornamental grasses, a boulder or two, if you’re near the sea, maybe some driftwood or something similar. A metal wall hanging, arty thing.

Thank you! Love some of these
don’t know why I hadn’t thought about ornaments!
…or a giant gorilla

A ceramic pumpkin and a large solar lantern.
