Who is happy with their Patio?

We want to get a new patio but really don’t know what material/colour to use.
Has anyone had a patio laid in the last few years and are really happy about how it looks now. Has anyone had a patio laid that they are unhappy with.
Many thanks

We had ours done during Covid. Cost a fortune but we had it extended, re-laid with slabs that are different sizes and colours (it was very council corporate before) and added an outdoor dining area and hot tub. It’s fabulous!

We replaced decking with 30m2 of grey limestone paving about 2 years ago.
Really happy with it. We chose a rustic weathered look as we have an old house and somehow the current trend shiny porcelain wouldn't have looked right. Sandstone isn't quite as robust so went for limestone.
It needs a wash at the start of spring to get rid of dirt & algae but otherwise looks great & zero maintenance unlike the old decking!

Thanks for replying. Sorry I can’t see your picture. What materials did you use?

We’ve got Bradstone Woburn rumbled blocks , my husband did it himself with the aid of his new toy that year ( a Wacker plate ) and it looks fabulous .

Thank you. Neither of us could do a patio!

We have just replaced a patio and extended it too with sandstone in a mixture of colours in different size slabs. Looked at porcelain but felt it was too polished for us. None of the limestone colours suited the brick colours of our house. Went for sandstone as it was textured and perfect colours. Interestingly the prices were all similar. We are delighted with it. Our builder recommended where to look at the slabs.

Our colours and design are very similar to MissAtomicBomb1.

This is our red brick one. I love it!

We had a patio put in two years ago, and I’m still really happy with it! We went with porcelain tiles in a light gray—great for that modern look, and it doesn’t heat up too much in the sun. It’s been low-maintenance too, which is a big win in my book. If you’re feeling stuck, you might want to check out the Outdoor Living Blog . I came across it while researching patio ideas, and it gave me some great inspiration on color schemes and layouts. One thing I learned is to watch how sunlight hits your yard throughout the day. It made a huge difference when deciding where to put the seating area.
