Yale lock alternative

I’ve recently moved house and we have a Yale lock and then another lock further down.
I really hate the self-locking Yale lock. It’s a disaster waiting to happen with teenage kids leaving keys inside and then getting locked out after school while I’m still at work.
Is there a type of lock I can replace the Yale with which will not lock behind me unless I physically turn the key? it’s a standard wooden door. Google has not given me any answers on this one!
It’s silly I know but I’m so worked up about this!

I don't know the answer to your question, but can you get a key safe?

We have one for forgotten key emergencies or friends/family needing to access our house when we're not there, and it is so handy!

So you has e a take and Chubb? My preferred combination. We have a key safe for the kids.

I hadn’t thought of a key safe! Thanks for the suggestion.
