How big should a deck be?

Finally scraped together the cash to out a deck on the extension we built a couple of years ago.

It needs a deck outside the sliding doors. Want it to be deep enough for a small dining set but not extend too far into the garden.

How wide is your decking and do you feel it's enough?

ours is 2.6m (I think) which is enough for a big table with built-in bench seat on one side and chairs on the other.

Thanks. Would you say it would be big enough if one side of the seating wasn't built in?
