New Barnet Area - Local information please

Dear Friends,
We live in Harrow at the moment and our son goes to QE Boys in Barnet. We would like to move to Barnet. The houses near QE Boys School are very expensive, not spacious and most have no parking considering our budget of circa £800K.
We noticed some houses in streets near New Barnet station (15 min walk). The street like Longmore Aveneue, Eversleigh Road etc. that look reasonably priced. But the houses on Longmore Avenue have been on Rightmove for a long time. We did lot of googling around but could not figure out any obvious problems with that street or Eversleigh Road.
May we please request people who have been living in these areas or nearby to throw some light on these streets and nearby areas and advise if there are any problems, safety concerns or anything else that we should ideally know? Are there any no-go areas near New Barnet station? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks
WD

Other than you have a lots of traffic on Longmore Avenue (main road into the Barnet Village) during the school runs, I don't think there is any particular issue. We have some friends living in Lancaster Road and they seem to be quite happy. Actually, the roads closer to the station (Richmond Road, Lyonsdown Rd) are very nice. There is also a local independent school nearby.

Dear StanoS,
Thank you for your response.
We viewed a house on Longmore Avenue recently and I must agree, we realised that the road is quite busy even on the weekend. As long as there are no problems like flooding, subsistence or substance abuse etc. we would be okay.
I agree with you that Lyonsdown Road is very nice and houses are pretty expensive. Did not know about Richmond Road, thanks for the information.

Regardss,
WD
