Just that really, 3 neighbours have all sold up.

  1. fixer upper, terrace, 3 bed, 2 bathroom, slow viewings sold for 600k. its solid but needs updating.
  2. renovated, nicely and extended, semi, 4 bed sold for 850k
  3. renovated, cheaply, terrace, not extended, 3 bed sold for 800k.

So looks like we will have new neighbours at some point, I think the best deal was the fixer upper for 600k. But I guess it all depends on what they do and how much renovation costs have gone up etc....Just surprised that 2 and 3 sold in a few days with only a few viewings, both only spent 3 years in the road, no.3 also had the whole lower bay window and pillars etc ripped out years ago so its got a horrible flat bricked up front with a high up window...... so not a slow market here.

I’m in east London too. Sounds like they’re family sized houses? Where I am I find the flats sell quite slowly, but houses fly off the market!

Do you think you may have upset them? 😉

Two of my neighbours have gone sale agreed within days too (Walthamstow) - one didn't even get to the weekend viewings. But they are both still looking for places to buy, and not finding as much on the market as they would wish.

I'm in East London too and houses are selling within days here for extortionate amounts.

I used to love a fixer upper but would never risk another one. Renovation prices are sky high. Next door is currently paying £80k just for a loft conversion.

Couple opp, never spoken to anyone ever. Couple 2 houses along very nice and we often did things together. Fixer upper house, nice couple who inherited it and couldnt decide about renovation or staying in Peterborough, so they ended up selling it.

we are leyton/leytonstone border. 2 of the sellers are looking at north chingford or south woodford, yet to hear if they have found anything.

Yes, but here the flats with 2 bedrooms and garden also sell very fast.

The housing market in London has always been a bit different to the rest of the country.

Eurgh you're going to have months of builders vans , skips , noise , scaffolding and timber deliveries .

I know , in my street ( also East London) houses sell quick and then all the work starts . Narrow road to so a bugger to manouevre some days .

Oh my god yes. Every house must be stripped back and then bloated out at the back and up into the loft. My street has been infested with scaffolding, skips and white vans for years.

Hopefully not as two had big renovations only about 3 years ago..so we had all the skips and dust then........these young couples only seem to have a max of 2 children but have the loft done so end up with about 5 bedrooms !...The OCD clean freak neighbour of the fixer upper wont be happy that someone has sort of moved in today, as they have been using their bins and not their own ones....!
