Needs some advice for the tiles and flooring

Hi, My kitchen is nearly ready and it’s time for me to choose wall tiles and vinyl flooring for the kitchen floor.
The cabinets are wood effect ash colour with brass handles and brown leather trims.

I have been told that wall tiles can’t be in herringbone because of the time and effort it takes. He suggested I go for metro tiles.
please advise as I am not sure what colour combination would work. Thanks

For the walls, I wouldn't do tiles, I'd do a nice mirror splash back and get upstands made. Are you set on vinyl flooring? I think a nice square tile in a very light grey or white with a grey marble type effect through it would work well

confusedlots thank you. It’s LVT type stuff so I have option of wood effects or stone effects. There is an option of light white slate effects LVT so I choose that option.

Yes, I would go for a light floor covering and wall colour to maximise light, and an upstand in the same material as the worktop, as @confusedlots suggests. If you're having LVT, Amtico Hushed Oak is nice - it's a subtle wood effect but very light. Or Polyflor Blond Oak. For the walls, a very light off white, with some warmth - Dulux Timeless works in most spaces. Or if you want more colour / character, perhaps a soft pink or pale sage green?
