Old Kent Road / Bakerloo line extension

What do people think about if the baker line extension will ever get the green light? Will property prices near the new route increase only when the final decision is made / the line is open?

In 2003, I bought my first flat in Acton, partly on the basis that Crossrail was coming and would stop there. By the time that actually happened about 20 years later (it became the Elizabeth Line) I was was well gone and moved up the property ladder. My point is that yes, it probably will increase the value of your property but these things take notoriously ages to happen.

The Elephant/OKR area has been 'the next big thing' for about thirty years. I wouldn't hold your breath.

It will never happen.
Last I read was they were maybe thinking of having an express bus service (like the new superloop ones) running on what would be the potential route.

Shelinaa · 28/04/2024 16:21

It was first planned in about 1928, apparently.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I don't believe it either sorry and now the new "super loop bus" idea I don't think it will ever happen.

Hmm thanks, I thought that was the case. Our property in the area apparently hasn't gone up in value in the last three years and we're moving soon, trying to decide if we should sell or rent it out

@Chiaseedz Old Kent Road/Elephant and Castle just feels like a constantly evolving building site - I reckon you would be better off renting it out if you can.
