Openrent?

Has anyone used openrent before? Good or bad experiences?
I'm looking for a property and have found one on there but it seems well priced and I'm just wary of renting somewhere that's not through an estate agent. Obviously there's benefits to this also but I suppose I'm just worried about the lack of security maybe from not going through one?

Any advice please? Thank you!

Lots of scammers on there and FB marketplace. Proceed with caution.

Only place we ever viewed via Openrent was a complete dive in person.

If the price seems too good to be true, it will be a scam. You can reverse image search property photos to see if they have been lifted from someone’s Rightmove listing.

(there was a horrific thread on here six months ago where new tenants arrived at an already rented house, having lost a lot of money)

We rented out our old flat through it. We rented it out at a lower price because we had avoided agents fees, which has meant that we have had long tenancies with people we have a direct, positive relationship with. It has also meant we could ensure each time that we found tenants who matched the flat (basically it’s a quiet block with some older people in it who do not like noise - this works really well for some tenants who also want peace and quiet too so we were always upfront about this). Solely positive experience really, and I honestly think tenants would say the same. We‘re currently renting a place through an EA and the landlord is way more sharky and agents add very little!
