3 bed 50s semi. Constantly being changed decor wise. The garden is huge and it’s a really light house.

Which one?

Ages 4-6 end 2 up 2 down terrace with outside loo. Very 70s decor and hatch between kitchen and lounge.

6 - 12 end cnr terrace, bigger than first, 3 bed, 2 sitting rooms and cabin kitchen. Magnolia, magnolia and more magnolia and brown decor to disguise the nicotine stains.

12-13 moved between homeless shelter & my nans house before being put in temporary accommodation with blood stains on walls & burnt out cars in streets.

13 - 19 I don’t know how to describe it, not terrace house, kinda like a match box build, open plan living and stairs, 3 bed. Not safe to leave the house alone. Will get told off if I say specifics but girls my age being shagged in cars by certain groups of older men behind our house. They use to shout up to my room to come join them until my DF took a hammer to one of their cars one night. Other just as bad things going on, including thugs who had fighting dogs throwing our cat to the dogs.

Semi-detached council house on a roughish estate in a village. Hated it.

BarrelOfOtters · 26/04/2024 08:28

Massive 8 bed Victorian detached with big garden, veg plot, outhouses, pond. Servants quarters. 4 reception rooms. It got converted to a nursing home.

it’s given me ideas above my station….never lived anywhere like that again.

3 bed semi (the type where the third bed was just big enough for a bed) with garden. All the walls were white and all the furniture and floors were brown.

elevens24 · 26/04/2024 08:32

6 bed bungalow in the countryside.

Tisfortired · 26/04/2024 08:32

An end terrace on a very long busy main road. Deceptively big for a terrace. Lots of beige and brown decor.

FlameTulip · 26/04/2024 08:34

4-bed terraced house, no garden.

BouleDeSuif · 26/04/2024 08:36

18th century ex-pub with huge garden, stables, pigsty, orchard and a two storey shed full of ancient junk. No central heating. Very big pantry, coal fires, spiral stairs.

Teddleshon · 26/04/2024 08:56

Mine was an insane architect designed space age Jetsons type house which now features in quite a few exhibitions (not in the UK). Can’t imagine what possessed my parents to build it as they were always very traditional.

A double fronted, delapidated Victorian house.

It was wonder to, worth about 3m now..😳

My heart goes out to you. Hope you’re ok now.

Pre parents divorce I lived in a 3 bed semi detached house in London. Post divorce was a 2 bed flat where I shared a bedroom with my sister.

@Twiglets1 thank you. The moving didn’t do any lasting damage, my narc mother on the other hand is a whole other story. I’m not sure if it was moving around as a child or just me but I have moved around a lot, if I counted I’d say over 50 times. I think I’d have made a good army brat 😂 We are fairly settled now, I’m too old and tired, I’ve told DH I’d only move again if it was to a hot climate or bigger dream type home, otherwise I’m pretty happy where we are, especially as our DCs are entering high school years.

A modern end terraced council house in a new town with a garden and great neighbours. DM and DF bought it eventually and were very pleased with themselves. 60 years on my DM stilll lives there and it's still a great house with great neighbours.
