Bought a new build house last March with solar panels as standard so didn't seek them out, they were just a nice bonus. I'm completely clueless. Luckily, after a couple of months we found out from a neighbour that we needed to register them and finally managed to do that in Jan (after lots of back and forth about what we needed to supply to British gas to do so. 🙄)
We're now just waiting for BG to complete their bit which should be any day.
So my question is, obviously the seg registration will mean we're benefitting from energy sent back to the grid. Will this also mean we benefit from using the energy we're creating and we'll see a bill reduction or, have we already been using our own energy we just haven't been benefitting from exporting the excess?
There's nothing on my bills to suggest this but I don't know if there would be as it's all new.
Any help or explanation of how it works or what I've misunderstood would be great!😂
