What areas of Chester have a good reputation and schools? Any villages in and around Chester that anyone recommends?

Local ish to it already and visit chester frequently but don’t know the surrounding areas well.

Thanks

Christleton and its high school are apparently well regarded (I'm not from the area but a relative taught in the school)

Thank you!

The houses in that area are £££ unfortunately but will look at the catchment area but I know that can change

What’s your budget and are you interested in the surrounding villages or just Chester?

Max budget is £600k ish, surrounding villages more so but open to nice areas of Chester

How about Malpas and surrounding area-catchment for Bishops Heber which was always very well regarded. My kids are now in their mid twenties so am a bit out of touch but Bishops and Chrislteton were always well thought of. Curzon Park is a really nice area of Chester, Handbridge is walkable to centre but not sure of schools. Can’t imagine they’ll be poor as many parents who are pretty affluent are happy to use state education. East of Chester you have Tarvin and Kelsall-along with smaller villages-catchment is Tarporley which I thought was ok but my kids assured me it was full of druggies! Ashton Hayes is nice with station nearby at Mouldsworth, catchment is Helsby where my children went. Like any large school, it was mixed, but my children and their friends did pretty well. If you’re looking at the villages, make sure there are good transport links to Chester. We used to live in Frodsham-lovely market town but importantly for the children, they could socialise easily when they reached a certain age. For your budget, you’ll get a nice family house in an attractive area. Good luck.
