Pulled out of sale - damp issues

I posted previously about a house I was buying that had got rising damp.

Damp specialist said he has seen worse but it is still quite a bad case of rising damp plus the drive is too high so there are issues there. There is nowhere for rainwater to go so it would have to be dug up to allow it to drain away. The rain is flowing into the air brick.

There is also loos brickwork so that would need repointing.

I offered a much lower price, probably more than it would cost to put things right but it would be a major inconvenience and hassle.

Typically the vendor wouldn't budge on price so I've walked away.

I have 7 houses to view over Friday and Saturday so hoping that one of this is THE one.

Is that the one where the seller has moved in with her boyfriend.Yes I remember the damp pictures and she didn’t have any explanation.I think you are wise to move on from this property.

Just feel sad for the next person that offers on it and doesn't see the damp until it's too late.

It's back up for sale so will be interesting to see how long it sits there until it's sold.

It was already up for sale for 6 months before I offered on it as she wouldn't lower the price.
