House trends/things you do like in your own home?

Every room being a different colour

We live in a bungalow, and I would love the same flooring all through the house. I like the continuity and think it would make the space feel bigger and calmer.

Same flooring throughout each floor,
Keeping traditional features (fireplaces, cornicing etc)
Shutters over curtains
Separate living rooms (we have living room, dining room plus an open plan kitchen/family area)
Utility room!

If we upgrade (in our 30s w/ DC) the trend I want in our next house is as above plus a mud/boot room 🤞🏾

Anything real or bold jewel colours.

My kitchen, it’s big but super ergonomic. So distinct functional areas where I’m not pacing backwards and forwards

That should say teal, not real. I'm hoping we're seeing an end to everything being grey. I also like a proper dining table with a table cloth.

Upstairs laundry - life changing

Plants. I’m gradually replacing all the big kids toys with house plants!
