How many cushions can you find in this house?

Not including ones that are obviously part of a couch. And they have to be visible in a photo, not extrapolated from a matching set elsewhere.

I have 156.

What a beautiful house.

CatherinedeBourgh · 23/04/2024 16:33

Forget the cushions, how many sofas do they have?! They have about a million rooms and every one seems to have at least two sofas, and a few extra in the hallways.

I wonder how often they get deep cleaned?

heldinadream · 23/04/2024 16:44

@UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername I jumped in and counted 172, but then came back and read your question properly - so - do bolsters count as cushions or are they included in your 'obviously part of a sofa' category? Because I counted the kind of bolster that fits the corner of a seat type, which I think you didn't. Not sure how I got an extra 16 though.
Anyway we're in the same ball park.

Thank you for an excellent challenge and distraction! 😂

How long were those red curtains 😯the must be so heavy. Lovely house.

Wigtopia · 23/04/2024 16:49

Not enough?! 😀

What are you talking about cushions for?
The house is absolutely stunning, and the views! You'd only get a modest house for that in London!
Just fabulous.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 23/04/2024 16:53

I counted bolsters.

I think there's a good few more on the second dark couch in the playroom but they're not photographed, sadly.

I'd take the house and every last cushion, quite happily. Though I think I'd have to make a different room the library, that one's too small and wouldn't fit enough cushions.

It's the most expensive house in Ireland.

Modest?! Even in London you would get much more than a modest home for €12,000,000.

It is really lovely though 😊

BotterMon · 23/04/2024 16:58

Beautiful location and house. Those curtains would give me nightmares. Hoards of people could hide in them 😉

No, that's just over £10m. Where I live, 3 bed houses go for £5m - that's in a terrace!
No comparison.

Wowsers I stand corrected! I'm in London too but in my area three beds round here are around £450,000 - £575,000! We paid slightly less than £400,000 for ours a couple of years ago because it needed a fair bit of work. I guess some areas are way more expensive than where I am!

I love this whole thread. Thanks op. 😁

fromaytobe · 23/04/2024 17:09

I got to 164 but I'm not sure whether I counted some of them twice where there are multiple view of the same room.

Lovely house though - and cushion-free bathrooms😂

I wonder how often they even get sat on?

AgnesX · 23/04/2024 17:12

If I were a rich man (to the tune of Burl Ives)...

fromaytobe · 23/04/2024 17:18

A similar sized house in London is £35m. Unless you want a 5-bed apartment in Knightsbridge of course - that would set you back £60m. Sixty million quid for a flat!

It just shows you what you get for your money in Dublin, and what a stunning view! !

That is very much a Jilly Cooper house.
