Re-Wire cost

Just moved into our new home and we are planning to rewire - consumer unit needs replacing and wires have only got estimated 5 years left so just going to go ahead and do it.

Been quoted £6.5k - midlands based, 4 bed semi (4th bedroom is a loft conversion). Is this within normal range for this sort of work? Going to source other quotes but wanted an idea as I've never organised or done this level of work to a house before. Thank you!

I paid around 5K for a full rewire and new unit about 6 months ago.

I have a 3 bed 1930 terrace with added kitchen extension and also light in the loft space, South East.

Consumer unit replacement is fair enough, but wasn't aware that wires expired
