Seach for Builders

Hi Everyone,
Apologies, for my question, but worth a try. I live in Farnborough, Hampshire and looking to have an extension built to my current house. We’ve tried moving out of the area to get somewhere with bigger space and more value for money, as we’re a growing family. However, considering the current / future interest rates, we have decided that it might be a better option for us to remain in our current house and build an extension. The challenge with this option is that the quotes we are getting from builders are astronomically high and therefore my question is - can anyone please recommend a reliable and reasonably priced builder that can help me? I’m also open to builders living up North that are willing to travel down south to work – of course travel and accommodation expenses will be covered. Many thanks for your suggestions.

Building costs are approx 40/50% more expensive than they were 3 years ago, primarily due to material costs. The prices you are getting may just be the costs. Getting an out of area builder won’t change the cost of materials sadly.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I do acknowledge that the cost of materials is up, which I can do nothing about. However, I was looking to save on labour cost - hence the reason for my strategy.
