Party wall inspection after work's done?

Next door's loft conversion is almost done. Should they be arranging a party wall inspection afterwards? Should that happen before or after the scaffolding comes down?

A party wall agreement should be in place before works start.
If any damage has been done you'll have a hell of a time proving that it was due to the neighbour's works.

You can get a surveyor to do a retrospective once over but it won't be worth much if you need to claim on your insurance for any damages.

We had one done before the work started. I thought a follow-up was needed to ensure no damage occurred. Waiting to hear back from the neighbour but thought someone here might know in the meantime. Thanks.

It depends, have they damaged your property? If not then probably not needed?

I would only expect an inspection if you think damage has occurred.

Not as far as we can tell, but I was wondering if an end of project survey by someone trained to spot any issues that may have arisen during work is needed at the end to make sure. Have never been through this before so just checking what's standard.
