Moving house and voting

All being well and assuming we exchange next week (a lot of ifs!) we will be moving house on 1st May- the day before local elections.

Anyone know how we stand with voting? Is it ok for us to get a postal vote even though we will technically be at a different address for election day?

The electoral register will still have you at your current (soon to be old) address as the deadline to alter it for 2 May is 16 April. So you should be fine. I would say a postal vote is easiest - deadline to apply is 17 April I think
