Streets around Archer and Wren are they nice?

I am a single parent looking to move back to North London. I used to live in highgate for a long time and was planning to buy a 2 bed flat somewhere on the Muswell Hill to Crouch end side. But now I noticed few tiny but affordable houses in east finchley and north finchley very close to the above schools and was wondering if those streets are nice? The properties are within 0.2m or 0.3m distance of the above mentioned schools. Would you buy there?

We are currently in SE London in a flat which I am selling and given all issues I had with service charges and lease Ilive the idea of a small house with a garden.

My budget is 500k -550k. Maybe a tiny bit more.

They’re the less desirable streets in the area. The North Finchley ones better than the East Finchley one. Both areas perfectly fine, but nowhere near as bouji as Museell Hill or Highgate.

Or maybe someone could recommend an area that is not too far but could be affordable for me? (A small freehold for upto 550k) although I doubt it.

The thing about those schools is they have tiny catchments. I think 0.3 miles for Wren. Is your heart set on those schools? Plenty of good ones in Barnet.

Brendan Grove won't get you into Archer. You might get a 2 bed maisonette in Leopold / Leslie / Market Place for around that price but nothing comes on the market often.

@Streel I am not overly familiar with Barnet, are you able to recommend few schools or streets to look at? The primary is more important for us at the moment but as I am buying I would like to move somewhere near a desend secondary as well.
