Dp and I live in a mid sized one bedroom flat (50 sq meters). It’s cheap and cheerful but bathroom and kitchen are old so never really feel clean. As are the carpets.
We have seen some lovely high spec 75 sq meter one bed flats with a study for home working, for another £6,000 extra in rent a year (London).
But we keep reading that rents will go up and up and landlords will sell. We know our landlord doesn’t need/want to sell and has run this property as a rental since the mid 90s. So we are scared to give up a “good” rental and potentially have to move again in one year’s time. Plus saving money is always good, but it comes to a point when you feel you’d like something a bit nicer.
