Safe places to raise a family near London

Hi
I live in East London but I now want to buy a three bed detached (budget £325000). I want to move outside London to somewhere safer.
Any suggestions as I don’t know much… Google keeps saying Ely (in Cambridgeshire) and Surrey are safe but surely there must be more safe commutable places

I need something that is an hour and a half commutable to Central London as DH needs to travel once a week.

Suggestions for family friendly London commutable locations would be ideal

Many Thanks

You’ll struggle to find a 3-bed detached within 90 minutes of London, especially somewhere ‘safe’’.

Does it have to be detached? Sudbury in Suffolk is about 90 minutes from Liverpool Street but it’s two trains. It’s very safe but you don’t get many detached houses with 3 beds. Most are 4 beds and £400k upwards.

Braintree is an hour away, safe but dull. Again, you won’t get a 3-bed detached for your budget but it’s one of the cheapest commuter towns.

You also won’t get what you want for that price in Ely.

I can’t think of anywhere near London where youll get a detached 3 bed for that budget, you will have to compromise on house or move much further away. And what does ‘safe’ mean? Statistically driving a car on the road is the highest risk thing most people do each day
