Help calm me down!

Had a mortgage offer issued with Pepper Mortgage last week, signed the acceptance of offer and they emailed to say they had received it last week. I've missed 2 calls from them today and now panicking there is something wrong as I can't call them back until morning. We have been waiting so long for this property (taken 7 months so far, first mortgage offer ran out so this is the second one)
and I just feel on the edge of a panic attack worrying they were calling to cancel the mortgage or something. Talk me down from my panic! Why would they likely be calling?

Is it a second charge product that you applied for ? If so they probably want to go through things in more detail. They normally make an offer of a mortgage in theory and then go through your situation in more detail.

Almost certainly it is nothing to worry about, but I understand how your thoughts can spiral in the absence of certainty. To deal with the worst case scenario, if they are going to cancel the offer, they can most likely only do so under one of the terms specified within the offer. So I would suggest reading through the small print and seeing what the possible grounds might be (for example, a sudden change in your ability to afford the payments, or a drastic problem coming out of the survey). Hopefully none of them will apply, and that will help put your mind at rest.

Thanks both! @DrySherry We had a security call a few days before the mortgage offer was issued going through final details.
@ClematisBlue49 Thank you for the info,
will read through the small print now

I rang them this morning and it was just to go through all the terms of the mortgage - phew!
