Flooring options lounge/dining room

We have lounge leading straight into dining room with double glass doors in-between. Currently same carpet in both rooms. However now due a refresh and I would like carpet in the lounge but looking at other options for dining room. Will this look strange having carpet in one room and say hard floor in the other room?

Personally, I would keep the flooring the same to maintain flow and coherence if you essentially use them as one. It really depends just how seperate the rooms actually are.
