New Eltham Area review

We are planning to rent a house in New Eltham - station is 11 minutes walk - moving from North West (Wembley). We both works in central London. I have 2 yr DS. Wanted to know the review of this area? Is this a good area to raise a family?

I think the area is nice - avery hill park nearby - some nice walks - limited shops - main area will be Eltham high street or Chislehurst - nice area - very green. Not sure re schools but a number of grammar schools in bexley - need to take the 11+

This is what would put me off about that area and a lot of the surrounding areas, it being predominantly white working class, but if you don’t mind that then that’s fine:-

I was in Eltham last summer at the palace and yes it’s nice. Quite quiet. Some of the houses and streets near there I didn’t find quite as nice but driving there from SE London it seemed ok. Lots of families with young children there.

Hi, @ThatHonestCat also looking at moving to this area and wondering how you.have found it if you moved?

Is it better than the area nearer to eltham Station?
