Management Company Dissolving!

Hi all,

We have had this letter from
the estate management company and I am concerned! Our home is freehold but the estate is leasehold. Is this going to be a huge issue when we sell? The company don’t do anything to look after the estate anyway but its the selling that worries me…

Well you need to consult a solicitor. The bit about joint liability between property owners for areas of management company land is of possible concern. I take it this is a newish estate and the council haven't adopted it? It's probably worth going round a few neighbours, see if anyone knows a solicitor or is one. And it might be worth contacting your local councillor about the estate being adopted, though they can be reluctant.

This whole freehold with a management company is just a shitty way of getting round new leaseholds being unacceptable these days and soon to be history (if the government pull their bloody finger out).
