Council - I've been shortlisted

Hi,

I've been shortlisted for my first property since being on the council list. I finished in 6th place, so I'm doubtful that I'll actually be offered the property but I can't help feeling a little excited.

The only reason I was so high on the list is because there were two houses and two flats on the list, and I bid on the flats since I knew I would be very high on the list for a house. I'm in band 4, so I'm not a priority at all.

I sent in all the needed documents for the property, and I'm waiting to hear back. I'm wondering if they'll contact me if I won't be offered the property this time, or if I just won't hear anything at all.

I think they will only contact you if you are successful at getting a viewing.

I called today and they said they don't say anything unfortunately

I work for a housing association and we only contact successful tenants usually within 10 working days of the advert closing.
