Hello..

Ill be moving to london in June with my family and im supposed to shortlist 3 or 4 areas for my husbands company to help find a place but the information is overwhelming. Since my husbands work is mostly work from home with occasional commute to the bankside, we are prioritising our area on the availability of good secondary state schools as she will be goin to year 7 in sept 2025.

Apart from kingston and richmond (as they are already on our list), what could be other areas we look into?

Our criteria is

  • somewhere in northwest, west or southwest london
  • reasonable amount of good secondary schools so that we have a few options
  • lively neighborhood/ urban feels
  • easy commute to central

Bonus if the area is affordable

We have shortlisted ealing, harrow, merton and sutton so far but personal recommendations would be helpful

I am bias, but do research Thames Ditton. Great estate secondary school, Hinchley Wood, but you would have to live super close to the school as it is over subscribed and their catchment area is very small.

If you have just girls, Kentish Town/Gospel Oak have Camden and Parliament Hill schools.
