Buying house in Chesham ??

Hi 👋
I am currently living in Harrow and my daughter is in year 3.

we want to move to Amersham/ lil Chalfont area but houses are too expensive.
I was also considering Chesham as another option as houses are bigger and nicer in Chesham but I see a lot of negative reviews about Chesham.

i need a lil insight about Chesham area?
Also which area we should completely avoid? Is there any Indian community there?

thanks a lot

Ignore the negativity, Chesham is a great place to live and raise a family.

It's all relative. Chesham is perfectly nice and cheaper houses. Amersham and Little Chalfont are a bit more upmarket but house prices reflect that.

If you're planning to commute, Chesham is slightly less convenient as there's fewer direct Met line trains and no Chiltern line.

When I lived there the area up the hill near the Grammar school was nice and the road out towards Chartridge and also Church Street.
That was 27 years ago and I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Most of Chesham is fine - I would be happy to go back to live there if I returned to the UK.

My brother lived there for several years after moving out of London. He was happy, it was quiet, no trouble or anything. Last stop on the tube, about an hour into London.

Thanks a lot everyone, is there any area I should completely avoid?
Also my daughter is in primary school year 3 , which school is good for her ?
I heard Brishwood and Thomas are good.

RachSharma how are you getting on ? We are also planning to move to Chesham/possibly Amersham depending on schools and house prices.
