Please give me some tips! We have been building two high sleeper beds. Four hours in and not much progress. The instructions are rubbish and it doesn’t come naturally to either of us. Any tips to help this not end in divorce 😂

I quite enjoy putting flat pack together but the trick is to do it on my own! I only call dh in if I really need him to hold something for a big piece of furniture. Otherwise I want to murder him about 3 minutes in.

Yes but beds for some reason are particularly bad.

We had one that had a really detailed diagram on page 1 and then step 2 was a proper "draw the rest of the fucking owl" moment.

My only tip is to screw everything together loosely first, then only tighten when you know you’ve got it right.

Ha! I built that one in the summer when it was 40°C! It was complicated and heavy and awkward and I was very hot.

My only advice is just keep going. Probably best for one person to do it and just call the other person when the other end of something needs holding!

As someone who teaches drawing, I got a good laugh from that, thank you!
