How do you know where to move to?

I want to move in with my partner, we both have children. We want to live somewhere with a lot more going on, probably in Surrey. But how do you know where will be right!? There’s so much to consider now there are children and schools to consider. I’m ADHD and I feel like I need a checklist of things to consider as I’m so worried about missing something and how to do everything in the right order. Any experiences or practical advice please?

Where do you need to be for work?
Do either of you have to commute into London?
Do either of you already have friends / family in the area?
Do all children live with you all of the time? If not, where are they located?
What type of schools do the children need?
What if you budget v what are your requirements?

What's your budget and your housing needs? Surrey is expensive, so that will probaby be main concern (I live here) 🙈
