Air Source Heat Pump

Anyone got a ASHP, we live in council property which has a multi fuel wood stove and they are doing up their houses. They have a massive grant from the Government to put in ASHPs which will run a new smart water cylinder and eventually solar panels. Read lots of conflicting reviews about them. We don’t use any heating apart from wood stove so it would only power the hot water but have read they don’t get the water to a real good temperature? Anyone have experience of using them?

Worth a listen.
They can get your water hot, but if your cylinder is not well insulated it wouldn't run at optimum efficiency. With a new cylinder it should be well insulated though.

Sliced Bread - Air Source Heat Pumps - BBC Sounds

Can every home have an air source heat pump? Or is that claim a load of hot air?

We have one and we're very happy with it - plenty of hot water and rapid heat up. However, we have a modern, very well insulated house.
