How many viewings did you get per week in the current market?

Selling a 2 bedroom terraced house a 15/20 minute train ride away from Central Manchester, so north west.
Looking at other listings around us, we've priced really competitively, other properties which are similar are about 20k more expensive.

We've only actually been up a week, but considering that next door sold for 210k and we're priced at 180k, I was expecting a huge amount of viewings.
We had three viewings last night, I very much doubt we'll be getting any offers from those, but we've got no others lined up.

This is the first house I've sold, so I was just wondering what the norm is? I know the market is slow at the moment.

Would love to hear others experience - bonus points if you're in the Tameside/Saddleworth area or Greater Manchester in general

Our chain collapsed so we went back on the market last Friday. We had 1 viewing this week and 2 booked in for tomorrow.

We had a viewing a week and the third person offered. House was on for just shy of 4 weeks.

We sold a house in Tameside a few months ago so information is probably a bit dated. we got about 2 or 3 a week. After four weeks with no offers, dropped the price 5 % and got about 6 viewings the following Saturday. Two offered original asking price so it took a while but worked out ok.

Around here n Wales house sales are falling through. I wondered if it could be the mortgage companies because the deposit isn't large enough

Are the lack of viewing down to availability of the agent?
We're house hunting and can't get the slots to view the houses because their staff are run off their feet.

@Katlow I suppose some buyers might be wondering why your place is so 'competitively priced'? I'd wonder either what is 'wrong' with it or what is your hurry. No disrespect intended. :)

Not after a week.

Being on the other side, I would say first two weekends are where there are 5-10 viewings on open days type. If no offers after couple of weeks, it usually means the existing pull of buyers has not deemed the house sufficiently attractive in relation to the asking and sellers may rely on trickles of new buyers coming to the market. Well that’s for London where each local market is quite liquid (no bargain)

DS house hunting at the moment. Several of the properties he has viewed have been on ages and didn't seem to be attracting many viewing whereas a couple of ones new to the market had 6 or 7 viewing on or before the first weekend. Both resulting in multiple offers and a sale. He is being priced out rather than able to offer on or less than asking price. South East.

SE London - we had 3 before it was even on the market and 11 on an open day on second day on Rightmove. Competitively priced 3 bed semi. Our estate agents are very good though.

We are in a Stockport. We have been on just over 2 weeks and only had 3 viewings in that time. We have never sold before either but expected more interest than we have got

Kentlane · 08/03/2024 20:08

2 more viewings have been booked for next week so that will be 4 next week and 5 in total...if no one cancels.

Maybenexttime08 · 08/03/2024 20:14

We're in West Sussex. Went on the market on Weds, have had 2 viewings (no offers), and 3 more booked in. Not a big rush but it's something
