Social Housing and queue position question

Hi all

Wondering how long it took you to be housed once you were in the top 5 queue position wise. We have points for high medical needs and have now been in positions 4 and 5 for the last month or so. I know it varies but curious to know your experience

Tia

Hey , no I haven't they haven't even checked the application yet and now my son is going to be assessed for autism too. I have no idea how long they will take

oh sorry i meant the original poster.

it took 6 months for my application to be reviewed and i was put in the lowest band but after a lot of complaining and letters from medical professionals we were put into band b. we are 3-7 in the queue for flats and much higher for houses. it depends what band you get put into but if you are just starting out you’re looking at 5+ years in the lowest band. we have been band b for a few bidding cycles now so hoping it’s not much longer.

my advice is to bid on everything you can, even if you don’t want it. then when you’re top 20 bid only on properties you actually want. good luck
