YourMove - sneaky bastards

We learnt through our lettings manager that the landlord wanted to raise the rent by £50 per month. We said no because of x,y,z. The last we heard was "Ok I'll pass that on to the contracts team" We heard nothing again until Yourmove just sent the contract through for this upcoming year with the revised, yet undiscussed rent increase on. The contract is about 10 pages long, and this was in tiny print on the last page. Is this cheeky as fuck or what? Our current tenancy expires on March 10.

Sorry I should add reasons for not agreeing to the rent increase.

  1. It was previously an Airbnb & landlord left SO many personal belongings here that have caused us pain points, including boxing up 5 boxes of personal items - books, reading glasses, clothes and having to place it in communal cupboards in the building, pissing off the other residents. We have documented all of this.
  2. We are already paying market rent. A quick righmove search reveals that per square foot, rent has flattened out in this area for the last year.
