New sockets in room redecoration

We will be redecorating our living room. Ripping up carpets, removing woodchip wallpaper (feel for me), painting and then floorboards + new skirting.
We need new sockets as there's currently only one double socket in the whole living room!
At what point do I call in the electrician?

And will we need to factor in replastering or could they take the wires under the floorboards?
The walls are also solid block everywhere we want the new sockets.

I'd get someone in ASAP and they can quote and then slot into your schedule at the right time for them and you. It's also a nightmare getting trades round at the moment so start early. Even if they go under the floors, you will need some re plastering but depending on how high (and visible) the sockets are, you might be able to do this yourselves.

Thanks that sounds like the best idea. I guess I didn't want to bother the electrician to quote yet when we're unsure of timings.
