Pre Exchange Wobble

Name change for this.

We are hoping to exchange this week, I've been so excited/nervous of it all falling through for the last 3 months however now we are almost at the point of no return I feel really wobbly about the whole thing.
Worried about leaving our current home where everything is done and we are happy and moving to a new house that needs a lot of (mostly cosmetic) work. The new house is bigger (not massively so), is detached, has an extra bedroom meaning one dc can escape the tiny box room and is in a lovely location. We aren't massively stretching ourselves and the new house should be paid off in the next few years, but until then we will be a limited on what work we can do. I don't know what I expect from this post really, maybe just to write it down will help me. Thanks for readying if you got this far.

I think it's natural to feel this way.
My house is just how we want it, it's lovely and we've been so happy here and we don't have to desperately move.

But this house is too big, we need to downsize and will then pay off our mortgage.

I think it's fine to have a wobble. Any type of change is hard.

BG2015, thank you. I think you've absolutely hit the nail on the head. I'm definitely a person who doesn't like change! Why ever did I think moving was a good idea!

Once you've moved in and unpacked all your furniture and got familiar things around you it will start to feel like home.
