Worcester Park - best roads? Schools? HELP!

Hello, I'm helping my family member who is a single mum with a house hunt (two kids - one in the the middle of primary school and other starting secondary school in Sep 2024).

They are looking to buy a house in Worcester Park now (South West London).

3 good sized bedrooms is a must! House. Freehold. Decent garden.

Does anyone live there or know it?

Is it a nice place to live? Schools? Safety?

What are the best roads/areas?

Thank you so so so much!!

Awwww I grew up in Worcester Park, on Ruskin Drive right at the top of the high street, by the church.

Our road was mostly 1930s 3-5 bed semi detached with large gardens and I loved it.

There are very good schools in the area, excellent high schools bus rides away (nonsuch girls, Kingston Grammar, Richard Challoner etc).

I moved to a different country years ago and my parents sold up and downsized about 6 years ago but I remember traffic being utterly shit down WP high street, assume it's still bad (if not worse now).

It used to be great having regular trains to Waterloo but apparently they've reduced those down since covid as well.

Anyway, just a ramble from someone who grew up there and had a lovely childhood and fond memories, but afraid I can't comment on it now as I haven't been there since 2017!

Thanks for this @Strokethefurrywall ! Love the nostalgia post! It’s reassuring. we’ll have a look at the area you mentioned .

Are there any areas you suggest we avoid? For example, i read threads on the cheam area and people say north cheam is not the best, but Worcester Park borders north cheam.

is that side of Worcester Park less popular?
