If you can't tell by looking at them, then does it matter which one you use? I'd get whichever was cheapest. Or failing that, toss a coin!

I have white mist @LindaDawn happy to dm some pictures to you if you would like x

Cally70 · 10/02/2024 09:14

I have white cotton in several rooms. It looks more grey in some rooms than others. It's still pretty white though

Many thanks for your offer but will kindly decline as it’s hard online to get an accurate pic. Just wanted to know, if you had it in any north facing rooms or rooms with poor light and if it looks very grey. Also are you pleased with it and did you choose that above other whites.

We have used White mist in a bathroom, it was an extremely chilly colour. Worth getting testers.

Thanks for your reply. Are you happy with the White Cotton. In which rooms does it look more grey. It’s hard to know how much light there will be in my extension when it’s an empty shell.

DH is a decorator and says that White Cotton is the more white of the two

LindaDawn · 10/02/2024 19:13

Thank you so much. I thought that was probably the case but nice to get it confirmed. Does he think it’s a nice colour?

Dh is more for colours himself but he says the Cotton White is not a clinical white so a reasonable choice.

We've got white cotton in our new extension kitchen, I didn't want brilliant white but slightly off white. I really like it. It has a bit of warmth to it, can def see it's warmer against the brilliant white ceiling/skirtings. We've paired it with a denim drift feature walk. Very happy.

CallingElfRescue · 10/02/2024 19:21

Also, ours is north facing, it's definitely not grey. Have light coming in from veluxes and big bifolds.

Edited

Extension only just finished and I can’t walk on the screed to move my samples around. Also my local,DIY store didn’t have a white mist sample in stock. Painting starts on Monday!

Is this in a poorly lit room without much natural light?

I have white cotton all through downstairs. A lovely colour. The white mist was much cooler/greyer, which is why I chose white cotton. It has a very subtle warmth that I love and will continue to use!

No it was a bright west facing room with a big window. I think you've made the right choice!

Happy24624 · 10/02/2024 22:52

I've just used both and White Cotton has turned out whiter.

Which colour did you prefer?

Just had White Cotton put on in my staircase (no windows) and it’s a nice soft white.

Very different rooms, White Mist is in my 13 year old DD's room and she loves it, more interesting than White but still nice and soft and a bit of a contrast with ceilings and skirting. White cotton is in a bigger room and lovely, as others have said light colour.
