We are almost ready to go with our, very long awaited, extension and whole house renovation. Just a couple of things to sort out (eg PWA’s in the pipeline) then we will packing up and moving out for a few months.
Builder says he has a standard contract he generally uses, but would be happy to go with one we come up with if it looks ok.
I know several times I on this board have seen people recommending a contract you can download, that’s approved by a building standards organisation. Thought I had saved it, but can’t find it anywhere and we have a meeting with him tomorrow.
Does anyone know where I can find it please?
Also, I would really appreciate any hints/tips on what we need to be extra careful the contract covers and experiences with the best way to handle things like staged payments? We’ve never done anything like this before, so I would be interested to hear what worked/didn’t work for other people before we sign on the final dotted line!
I am getting so anxious about the whole thing now. So many horror stories online.
